We - Scott, Jackie, and the team - have been operating part time across Herts for almost 20 years, looking after properties with the smallest back gardens to a 10acre estate, from neat and trimmed to wild and natural. We've been fortunate enough to be able translate our passion - your gardens - into our "job" fulltime. We work both directly with homeowners and also with various landscaping firms, to ensure your space, whatever the size, is there for you to enjoy how "you" want to use it.
Based in Hatfield, we are well placed to cover most of Herts. See our map below to get an idea of job scales that typically make sense vs our travel, but always do get in touch even if you are on our extremes - if you are flexible on times we can usually coordinate getting to you when we may already be in your area.
We want to provide you with a space for you to use and enjoy in the way you want - there's no one-size-fits-all garden! We have clients with astro-turfed lawns but beautiful beds, with croquet-smooth lawns surrounded by wildflower meadow, with ornate hedging and expansive patios. We aim to make sure your space is always at its best for when you want to use it. Check out our gallery and social media links to see some examples of gardens we look after - it's quite a mix!
Every garden is different, so it's hard to give hard-and-fast numbers on a website. But as an example:
"I need a tidy up" - Weeding and mowing a 30sqm lawn, clearing surrounding beds of dead plants and preparing for new (digging over, fertiliser where needed, etc), pruning/shaping (basic) an overgrown 4m long hedge, pressure washing 20sqm of patio (subject to test area being approved) . One or two of the team would be with you on a one off basis, take around 3-4 hours, and would be ~£80. If you were looking for this newly tidied garden to be maintained going forward with our "keep it tidy" service, we would discount the price.
"keep it tidy" - Mowing a 30sqm lawn, weeding surrounding beds, keeping a 4m hedge neat, sweeping 20sqm of patio. One or two of the team would be with you once a fortnight, take around 2 hours, and this would be ~£45.
"Help! I think I need to start from scratch!" - It's rare that your garden will "need" this, but we know that particularly when you move into a new house, or your family situation changes, how you use your garden can evolve also. We can advise you on the softer changes that can be made (lower maintenance bushes like lavender will tolerate an errant football better than a delicate petunia!), but we also work closely with some really great landscapers who we love introducing people to. We, they, and most importantly "you", put together what "you" want to achieve. They then put it in, and we make sure its looked after and continues to deliver what you want!
"Not sure what I need but want to have chat about options" - if you can be flexible to meet when we're already in your area then we're happy to stop in and chat - particularly if you can provide a hot cuppa! If you want us to come over specially, we do ask for a small payment (currently £25) to slightly offset our fuel and time - if you go ahead with one of our services, we take that off your first bill.
